Swim Angelfish certified

Private lessons, at your swimmer's pace

Adaptive lessons are private lessons taught by Swim Angelfish certified instructors, so the session is built around one swimmer rather than a class.

Why these lessons are private

A group class moves at the group's pace, which does not suit every swimmer. Adaptive lessons are 1 on 1, so the instructor can change the plan in the moment, work around sensory triggers, and spend as long as it takes on a single step. Our guide to swim lessons for autistic swimmers and lessons for ADHD and sensory needs go further into what that looks like.

  • One instructor, one swimmer, for the whole session
  • A pace set by the swimmer rather than a class schedule
  • Room to repeat a step as many times as it takes
  • Water can be therapeutic as well as safer, helping with sensory overload and giving a sense of weightlessness
