Swim Lessons for Teens in Charleston, SC

Teens learn with swimmers close to their own age, whether they're starting from scratch or training for a team or a swim test.

Some teens never learned to swim. Others swim fine and want to get faster, join a team or pass a swim test. Our swim lessons for teens cover both, and classes are grouped by age.

Grouped by age

Classes for tweens, teens and young adults

Tween to Teen classes are for ages 8 to 15. Swimmers 16 to 18 go into Young Adult classes, so a 16 year old is placed with swimmers their own age instead of with adults.

Tween to Teen levels

1

Level 1

Water safety and floating introduction.

2

Level 2

Basic strokes and water safety.

3

Level 3

Group classes have up to 3 swimmers per instructor. Semi-private lessons have 2, and private lessons are 1 on 1.

Starting as a teenager

Being a beginner at 13 can feel awkward. Level 1 starts with water safety and floating, and teens who would rather learn without an audience can take private lessons.

If fear of the water is part of it, read helping a fearful child feel comfortable in the water.
